This show contains adult language and themes, including trauma to disabled persons, recommended for ages 16+

A crowded car, 100 miles, three newly orphaned siblings, a chatty stranger, and a whopper of a family secret make for an extraordinarily uncomfortable road trip.

When their 85-year-old father dies, sparring siblings Maggie and Jake must face a question: How to break the bad news to their brother Andy, who has Down syndrome and has lived in a state home for years? Together, they careen down the Great American Long Island Expressway, navigating strip malls, traffic jams and some serious (and not-so-serious) family drama. Along the way, the pair find out just how much they don’t know about their family and each other. An unexpected turn reveals the moment that changed their lives…and the fact that Andy may be the only one who knows his own mind. 'Andy and the Orphans' is a rollicking ride that proves it’s never too late to follow a new road. Hop in, buckle up and hold on for dear life in this raucous family road trip.

What People Are Saying
the hollywood reporter
"A riotous, audacious blend of pathos and humor. There's a powerful beating heart in Lindsey Ferrentino's writing. Features enough hilarious one-liners to fuel a Neil Simon comedy...A play that boasts a rich, aching humanity."
the new york times
“Insightful... defiant... remarkable... [with] heartbroken resonance.”
NY1
"An astonishing play that is likely to alter your preconceptions. This touching drama questions the bonds of family and limits of love.”
